The dynamic dance, music and theatre experience will expose students to African Diaspora dance traditions in addition to cutting-edge choreography through previews and excerpts of Forces of Nature’s repertory and new works.

The critically acclaimed Forces of Nature Dance Theatre presents work from its eclectic repertoire by its master choreographer and Artistic Director, Abdel R. Salaam.  Join us for an excited evening of passion, creativity and beauty from the world of theater and dance.

An afternoon of the very best in percussive dance by half-a-dozen celebrated companies. From lively Irish dance to innovative body percussion to exhilarating tap dance and a powerful blend of African & contemporary dance, this impressive event offers something for everyone who loves the power and precision of percussive dance.

Participating companies include: Darrah Carr Dance; Forces of Nature Dance Theater; Germaine Salsberg’s Les Femmes; Parijat Desai; Ryan Casey; Soul Steps; and The Bang Group. Expect a rollicking good time and a sensory feast of sight and sound at Stam-Pede!

The Harlem Children’s Zone /Forces of Nature Youth Academy of Dance & Wellness will be performing at the Harlem Arts Festival . The HAFSessions feature festival artists and hopefuls at various venues in Harlem. They’re designed to give you a taste of what the festival is about, connect the festival and the community, and give us all an excuse to enjoy the amazing talent around us!

Forces of Nature’s will present a cultural matrix, centered in an African and an American intelligence that is global and environmental.

The name Kwanzaa means first fruits in Swahili. This seven-day annual holiday is a seasonal highlight for millions worldwide. The Apollo’s Kwanzaa Celebration is a joyful evening of dance and music honoring the principles of Kwanzaa—family, community, and culture. This annual event features the renowned Abdel Salaam’s Forces of Nature Dance Theatre and special guests who join the celebration. Award winning radio broadcaster, poet and songwriter, Imhotep Gary Byrd, hosts.

Winter Solstice is a contemporary take on ancient solstice rituals, when people came together during the longest night of the year to celebrate the turning point in the Earth’s journey around the sun, and the birth of a new year.
